One more time in his career, Herbie lunches the future back to the present, digging and establishing some deep trenches at the evolution of jazz. Teaming with Bill Laswell, Hancock recruits some of the most forward-thinking musicians for Future 2 Future -electronic music pioneer Carl Craig, vocal diva Chaka Khan, d&b producer A Guy Called Gerald, as well as jazz legends Jack DeJohnette and Wayne Shorter.
While this record is most definitely not an album for jazz purists, those with an ear for modern approach to music will definitely enjoy listening one of the greats in jazz music redefining himself with the times. Future 2 Future is the forty-third album by Herbie Hancock, released in 2001 for the Transparent record label. Enjoy!
