Fela Anikulapo Kuti With Africa 70 – No Agreement

FELA-1-900x594

Recorded in 1977, No Agreement follows the Afro-beat template to a masterful level: amazingly catchy guitar lines that replicate a bass guitar in their construction, a second guitarist to add some JB’s funk power, driving horn section proclamations, intricate saxophone, trumpet and organ improve solos, and then Fela Anikulopo Kuti’s wit and message for the people. “No Agreement” is decidedly some of the most interesting instrumentation that he had turned in.

Fela Kuti (born Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti; 15 October 1938 – 2 August 1997) also known as Fela Anikulapo Kuti or simply Fela, was a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, pioneer of Afrobeat music, human rights activist, and political maverick. Very fascinating life story. If you are interested in his work, life and political fight, documentary “Music Is The Weapon” is a must watch!
